Four local teams are still in the hunt to lift a trophy after two days of play at the U.S. Youth Soccer National Championship in Frisco, Texas.

The 2004 boys team from Real Jersey FC bounced back from a difficult loss with a 1-0 over Oklahoma club TSC Hurricane on Wednesday afternoon. Real’s Thomas Napoli scored the game’s only goal and with three points, the South Jersey team sits three points behind group leaders Heat FC out of Nevada. Both will face off today in the final game of group play.

Penn Fusion’s U19 boys team faces a must-win situation today after a scoreless draw on Wednesday against Ohio club Challenger Crew Juniors. Their game against West Coast Haney will be live streamed this morning at 10 a.m. eastern.

The path for the 2001 boys Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals team is a little more challenging after a scoreless draw against Ohio club CUP on Wednesday that held off elimination. They’ll need a win over Tampa Bay United and a favorable result in the other Group B match to advance to the semifinals.

On the girls side, both local teams lost on Wednesday.

FC Pennsylvania Strikers U18 were unable to hold onto a lead through Alison Heckman’s 39th minute goal as Oklahoma FC scored two unanswered goals to make passage to the semifinals even more challenging. They’ll need to win today against Cleveland FC and hope for a favorable outcome in the other Group B match.

The match will be live streamed at 2 p.m.

YMS Xplosion fell 1-0 on a 13th minute goal from Maryland club Arundel SA. They go into their final Group B game in the girls U19/U20 age group still in good shape though as all four teams enter the final day of group play tied on three points. A win over Oklahoma club West Side Alliance will book a spot in Saturday’s semifinal.
