The Philadelphia Union’s Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup campaign will begin in mid-June against a familiar opponent.

U.S. Soccer officially announced the pairings and the venues for the fourth round of the 104th edition of the tournament on Thursday afternoon.

Talen Energy Stadium will play host to the winner of Reading United AC and Harrisburg City Islanders, which play for a spot in the fourth round on May 31 on Reading United’s home field.

The Union Premier Development League affiliate shocked New York Cosmos 3-2 at Albright College on Wednesday night. Three Philadelphia Union Academy grads - Will Campbell, Rob Campbell and Zach Zandi - played in the match.

The City Islanders, which were the Union’s USL affiliate prior to the founding of Bethlehem Steel FC, advanced to the third round with a 6-5 penalty shootout win over Ocean City Nor’easters in Ocean City on Wednesday night after a scoreless draw. Former Union forwards Aaron Wheeler and Pedro Ribeiro both played in the match.

The Union have never faced Reading United in the Open Cup, but have beaten the City Islanders three times, most recently a 3-2 win last June. The New England Revolution knocked the Union out of the quarterfinals on penalties last year after two straight losses at home in the final the two previous years.

Wednesday, June 14 is listed as the date for the fourth round games, but there’s a possibility the games could be moved to Tuesday so stay tuned.
