Philadelphia Union fans back home will get a chance to see the Union U16s take on a youth team from Mexican club C.F. Monterrey in a game streamed online Sunday at 1 p.m.
The match is the second of three the Union will play in the group stage of the Premier Division of the Generation adidas Cup finals in Frisco, Texas. The Union open play against New England Revolution on Friday at 10 a.m. and also play Chicago Fire on April 11, at 12:15 p.m.
The winner of the group will advance to the semifinals.
Sunday’s stream is one of 34 games that will be streamed between the Premier and Championship divisions of the U17 tournament. MLS teams in the Championship Division qualified through two legs of regional qualifiers in the fall and spring. The Union hosted the East regional qualifiers in October at Power Training Comples.

This isn’t the first time the Union U16s will face an opponent from Mexico in the past year. Last August they traveled to Mexico City for a tournament between MLS and Liga MX youth squads. They played Mexican clubs Pumas, Santos Laguna, Club Tijuana and Pachuca in the competition.
