A pair of MLS Academy opponents and another from Liga MX await the Philadelphia Union Academy U16 team at the Generation adidas Cup finals in Frisco, Texas.

The Union will be competing in Group B of the Premier Division bracket after missing out on the Championship Division with a 2-2-2 record in qualifying.

They open play against New England Revolution, which they beat in regional qualifying back in October, on April 7, at 10 a.m., play Monterrey on April 9, at 1 p.m. and finish group play against Chicago Fire on April 11, at 12:15 p.m. The group winner will advance to the semifinals.

Sixteen total teams will be competing in the Premier Division, which include all of the MLS teams that didn’t qualify for the Championship Division and international invitees Saprissa, Pumas UNAM, Monterrey, Chivas Guadalajara and Tigres UANL.

The Championship Division will feature two-time defending champs River Plate and fellow international invitees Real Madrid, Independent del Valle, Flamengo, Eintracht Frankfurt, Malaga, Club Tijuana and Estudiantes de la Plata.

Thirty-four games will be streamed live on during the tournament, but the schedule of those games has not yet been released.
