MLS announced the home openers of every club today, and one of those happens to be the Philadelphia Union. Philly will host the New England Revolution in not only the home opener but also the Union’s season opener. It’ll take place on March 3 at Talen Energy Stadium, and the time is TBD according to the Union’s official press release.
What’s interesting is that for a lot of other clubs you can make out the second game of their season as well. The Portland Timbers for example, we know they are doing renovations to their stadium so they play away against the LA Galaxy and then away against the New York Red Bulls the following week. Nothing like that for the Union, so it’s probably one of two things for their second match. The first is that it could be another home game (come watch the team lose again at home!) or secondly that we’re away to a team who has already had their opener. We’ll keep you posted when the full schedule drops but until then, who’s ready to see Kei Kamara The Revs in March?
