Four standouts on the Philadelphia Union Academy U15 team are currently in training camp in California with the United States U14 team.

Among the 48 players called into the camp by head coach Clint Peay is the U15 midfield of Paxten Aaronson, Dante Huckaby and Nick Pariano and forward Selmir Miscic.

“This camp is a chance to bring in a bunch of guys together to see where they are for the next cycle,” Peay said in a news release. “The main goal of the camp is to use it as another evaluation to see where they are after a year. We’ll get the chance to see how they’ve progressed and it gives coach Shaun Tsakiris, who will take them at the U-16 level, an opportunity to come in and see a big pool of guys all in one place.”

All four Union players have starred this season in U.S. Soccer Development Academy and also played well in the first leg of regional matches in the Generation adidas Cup in October.

Aaronson and Miscic are a threat going forward while Pariano and Huckaby are a one-two punch behind Aaronson. Pariano is a two-footed player dangerous on set pieces while Huckaby’s size, strength and athleticism make him an imposing presence in front of the back line. Miscic is a constant goal-scoring threat with 21 goals in 14 matches across all competitions this season.

Of the four players, only Aaronson, of Medford, is originally from the greater Philadelphia area. Miscic relocated to the area with his family from Vermont, Pariano with his family from Michigan and Huckaby joined the residency program last year from West Virginia.

As part of the camp, the U.S. U14s are playing a total of five matches, including an instra-squad match and games against San Diego Surf (mix of birth years 2001-2003), Albion SC (birth year 2001) and Club Tijuana’s U16 and U15 teams.
