Philadelphia Union Academy midfielder Julian Anderson is one of 24 players currently in Chula Vista, California for a United States U15 training camp at the Olympic Training Center.
Anderson, who will be celebrating his 15th birthday while in California, has made nine appearances and seven starts for the U14 team this season and is second on the team in goals with four.
The Ocean, N.J. native joined the Philadelphia Union Academy from Players Development Academy over the summer. This is his first youth international call-up since joining the Union. He was called up to the team for domestic training camps in Florida in December 2015 and in California in September 2015.
U15 Boys’ National Team head coach Dave van den Bergh called in 24 players for the first domestic training camp of the calendar year, all from the U.S. Soccer Development Academy.
Anderson is the lone representative from the Union. The Seattle Sounders and New York City FC each have three players in the camp, Atlanta United has two and Chicago Fire, Portland Timbers, New York Red Bulls, D.C. United, San Jose Earthquakes, LA Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City have one.
The camp, which runs through Friday, included one match, played on Monday against Club Tijuana’s U17 squad.
