Last week we published an article detailing an internal poll here at Brotherly Game about who we would protect in the upcoming MLS Expansion Draft. At the end of that article was a Google form that our readers could fill out and tell us who they would protect from being selected by either Atlanta United or Minnesota United FC this December.

You spoke, and we listened.

Looking at the results, they seem to mirror the results from our internal poll. While no one got 100% of the vote, Keegan Rosenberry was the closest getting 99.3% (and that 0.7% should be ashamed of themselves, as should the lone person who voted to protect Anderson). Here’s the breakdown:

Keegan Rosenberry - 99.3%
Alejandro Bedoya - 98.7%
Chris Pontius - 98.7%
Tranquillo Barnetta - 98%
Richie Marquez - 96.7%
CJ Sapong - 96.7%
Roland Alberg - 96%
Maurice Edu - 84%
Charlie Davies - 76%
Fabinho - 63.3%

These are the ten players that our readers selected to protect. A pretty solid list, and while the percentages and position of the players differ slightly, these are the exact ten players we at Brotherly Game said we’d protect. The rest would be left for selection by the remaining clubs.

Ilsinho - 53.3%
Eric Ayuk - 36%
Walter Restrepo - 21.3%
Ken Tribbett - 19.3%
Ray Gaddis - 18.7%
Taylor Washington - 16%
Warren Creavalle - 12.7%
Brian Carroll - 10%
John McCarthy - 8%
Leo Fernandes - 4.7%
Matt Jones - 1.3%
Cole Missimo - 0.7%
Anderson Conceicao - 0.7%

The big question though isn’t who you or I would protect, but who Earnie Stewart and Jim Curtin decide to protect. Do you think their list will differ from the ones the Brotherly Game staff and readers came up with? Let us know in the comments section below!
