Everyone knows RFK Stadium is falling down. There are raccoons in the boxes, the structural beams are rusted, and the wooden seats will give you splinters in uncomfortable places if you sit down on them. But the pitch tonight may be worse than any of that.

Yikes. It’s bad enough that the fans have to make sure their tetanus shots are up to date before going there, but the bumps and divots on the pitch are going to seriously injure a player. Falling on your ass on a goal kick is funny, but a sprained ankle or torn ACL is not.
Hopefully the new stadium that’s being planned at Buzzard Point inside of the District will have a good pitch laid down when it finally hosts a match
