Another week, another Andre Blake nomination for Major League Soccer’s Save of the Week. The Philadelphia Union goalkeeper is up for a great diving save on the New England Revolution’s Diego Fagundez, who uncorked a rocket from about 30 yards out.
Should he win this week’s contest, this would be Blake’s second win this season in ten tries. You can still vote for Andre here. Orlando City’s Joe Bendik has managed to win Save of the Week nine times this year, including the past four - however Bendik won’t be making it five in a row as none of his seven saves against the Chicago Fire were nominated.
Blake has already advanced to the second round past Alec Kann of Sporting Kansas City and his save against Maxi Urruti of FC Dallas. He will face off against Seattle Sounders’ Stefan Frei for his save against Yura Movsisyan of Real Salt Lake. You have until midnight tonight to vote for the winner, and if Blake makes it to the Final round, voting for that will end midnight on Thursday.
