Philadelphia Union Academy defender Rayshaun McGann will be adding a trip to Utah to his summer itinerary after being called into John Hackworth’s United States U17 team for a training camp ahead of a tournament in Mexico.

McGann, who has been anchoring the Union U16 back line at the LIGA Bancomer MX tournament in Mexico City over the past week, will head to Park City on Sunday to rejoin Hackworth’s squad for the fifth time this calendar year.

He and the U17s made it to the title match of the 2016 AIFF Youth Cup in India their last time out in May.

While training at elevation in Park City, the U.S. will play Utah Valley University on August 16 and Real Salt Lake’s USL team Real Monarchs on August 20.

All but four players in the camp will then stay on with the team to compete in the 2016 Torneo Naciones de Mexico, set to take place August 22-29 in Mexico City. The U.S. team will take on Portugal on August 25, Qatar on August 26 and finish the tournament against host Mexico on August 28.
