Philadelphia Union Academy graduates Yosef Samuel and Sebastian Elney have been called into the U.S. U20 team for a New Jersey training camp that will include friendlies with the New York Cosmos and New York Red Bulls II.

Samuel and Elney were teammates on the Philadelphia Union Academy U18 season last year. Elney, a Florida native, is a rising sophomore at the University of Maryland, and Samuel is an Atlanta, Georgia native who recently graduated from YSC Academy.

Head coach Tab Ramos called in 20 players for the camp in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. Continental FC Delco defender Chad Poarch, a Middletown, Del. native, also has local ties.

The camp runs from July 30-Aug. 8 and includes a friendly with the New York Cosmos at their training facility at 2 p.m. on August 3 and a second friendly against New York Red Bulls II at noon on August 7 at their training facility.

The U.S. U20s recently won the NTC Invitational Tournament with Union Academy graduate Auston Trusty in the team but he’s currently in Spain with Brad Friedel’s U19 team for the COTIF Tournament.

Elney was last called into Ramos’ squad for the Dallas Cup in March and Samuel was last called in for a camp in Florida in January.
