Just about 24 hours after his first team debut against Crystal Palace, Derrick Jones gets honored by the USL for his performance against Wilmington.
See which players are on for week 17 of the #USL season!https://t.co/76g92ReRUN

There’s the full team of the week for those who are wondering. Jones has argubaly been the narrative of the year for the Union organization. The perfect example of a guy going from the Philadelphia Union Academy, then Bethlehem Steel Fc, and then cracking the first team for a big friendly against Crystal Palace. The young midfielder has been consistently brilliant for Brendan Burke’s side and the league gives him TOTW honors that in my opinion might be overdue.
Derrick becomes the fourth player in the Steel FC squad to get Best XI honors, with teammates Ryan Richter (Week 1), Eric Ayuk (Week 4) and John McCarthy (Week 6) being recognized earlier in the year.
This should be a big confidence boost for a guy that didn’t need much help finding form as of late, and Harrisburg will surely be on the lookout for Jones come Thursday night.
