Roland Alberg, Ilsinho make MLS Team of the Week

Chris Pontius also made the bench for the effort against D.C. United.

MLS: D.C. United at Philadelphia Union Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

This week keeps getting better and better for the Philadelphia Union.

In addition to Keegan Rosenberry and Andre Blake being voted to the MLS All-Star Fan XI and the Union’s 3-0 rout of rivals D.C. United, Ilsinho and Roland Alberg were named to the MLS Team of the Week and Chris Pontius was named to the Team of the Week bench.

Pontius had a great game against his former club, getting two shots on goal, including this one that United goalkeeper Bill Hamid was forced to make an incredible save on:

He also drew the foul in the box on Kofi Opare that got the scoring started for the Union:

Roland Alberg also had a great game, getting a goal on a perfectly executed penalty kick:

The Man of the Match however was clearly Ilsinho, who absolutely tortured the D.C. defense. The Brazilian drew a penalty

Converted it

Scored one from the run of play

And broke some ankles for good measure.

Ilsinho showing off his technical mastery.

Congratulations to Ilsinho, Roland, and Chris for their honor!
