The Philadelphia Union Academy U14, U16 and U18 teams will be traveling to Frisco, Texas for the U.S. Development Academy playoffs and showcase next week.
U18s
The U18s, the eighth overall seed after finishing second in the Atlantic Division, open Group G play on Wednesday with a 7:30 p.m. game against Beachside SC. Defending champions Chicago Fire await for a Friday match, followed by another 7:30 p.m. match with Kendall SC on Sunday to close out group play.
The group winner will advance to the knockout round at the host site of the higher seed on July 7.
U16s
The 12th-seeded U16 team kick off their playoff journey with a 5 p.m. match against Real Salt Lake on Wednesday. Kendall SC follow on Friday and Group A play closes out with another 5 p.m. match against third overall seed Vancouver Whitecaps on Sunday.
The group winner will advance to the knockout round at the host site of the higher seed on July 6, which the Union did a year ago en route to a third overall finish.
U14s
The U14 division doesn’t have playoffs, but the U14s will still get a chance to play three games in Frisco beginning with a 4:30 p.m. match against Sockers FC on Monday. They’ll play Chicago Fire a day later at 6:30 p.m. and finish against Portland Timbers on Thursday at 4 p.m. local time.
The match against Chicago Fire will be streamed live on the U.S. Soccer YouTube channel.
