Ahead of the Copa America Centenario, Jamaica National Team coach Winfried Schaefer has made a pretty easy choice, selecting Andre Blake to the provisional 40 man roster. Blake really came into his own last season for both club and country and should be a mainstay in the Jamaican team for years to come. The Copa is looking to be a pretty hard ask for the Caribbean Football Union champs, as they drew Venezuela, Uruguay and the team that beat them for the CONCACAF Gold Cup Mexico in the group stages.
Blake has been a key player in the Philadelphia Union's resurgence, and has constantly been recognized by making MLS Team of the Week three times in the last two years, as well as getting nominated for save of the week just about every week this season. Starting every match this year and posting a 77.8 save percentage with two clean sheets surely helped him get his most recent call up, and come June 5th when Jamaica plays Venezuela in Chicago, Blake very well might get the start.
