Three college players with experience suiting up for the Philadelphia Union Academy are the latest roster announcements ahead of Reading United's upcoming season in the Premier Development League.

Brett Campbell and Billy McConnell, who were both in the Union's youth setup in its "club and country" days, are entering their senior seasons in the fall. Defender Will Campbell will be a sophomore this fall.

Brett Campbell, a forward, has been named one of the captains for the Georgetown Hoyas this year after he scored four goals and added three assists for the Big East champions last season. The Wallingford native, who played for Continental FC Delco and The Haverford School, led Reading in goals last season with seven and has 10 career goals in 20 matches.

McConnell started all 21 games for the Hoosiers in 2015 at right back, scoring a goal and adding four assists. The Richboro native played club soccer for Players Development Academy and high school soccer at Council Rock North. He also saw action with the Union Reserves and spent the 2013 season with Reading United.

Will Campbell (no relation to Brett) didn't play in his freshman season at North Carolina. The Wallingford native made 52 appearances for the Union U18 team from 2013-15, scoring four goals. He suited up for Reading United in 2014 and 2015.

All three were on the Union's squad that won the Generation adidas Cup in 2012.

The trio will join previously announced roster additions Brad Fountain (Florida International), Martin Nygaard (Northeastern), Paul Marie (Florida International) and William Picoux (Limestone College).

The Philadelphia Union PDL affiliate will host NPSL side Atlanta Silverbacks in the opening round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup on May 11 at 7 p.m. and kicks off their 14-match season on the road at Lehigh Valley United on May 14 at 7 p.m. They are also slated to play Bethlehem Steel FC in a friendly on June 12 at 7 p.m.
