Philadelphia Union News
In case you missed it, we spoke with Dave Clark of Sounder at Heart, SB Nation's Seattle Sounders blog, about the upcoming match between the Sounders and Union.
And here are the questions Sounder at Heart posed to us.
Some insight ahead of the game against Seattle from Jim Curtin. Looks like he expects Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris to have a good game so look to the defense to try and shut those two down.
Bethlehem Steel News
The Steel are gearing up for their second ever home game this weekend. The article gives a nice history of soccer in Bethlehem before the Steel were founded. Speaking of the original Steel the third jerseys the Union used to wear that were inspired by them were amazing, they need to bring those back.
Looks like Sacramento will be joining MLS in the near future if Commissioner Don Garber is to be believed. In that article he also states MLS would expand to 28 teams. 28 seems like too many if you ask me, 24 would be optimal in my opinion.
The Union make an appearance on this list of biggest surprises to start the MLS season.
The Women will play Columbia, France, and New Zealand. All three teams the USA will face made the 2015 World Cup, so they should expect a challenge to advance from the group stage.
Rest of the World News
So I've been a Liverpool fan about as long as I've been a Union fan, and let me tell you this was an amazing game. I was lucky enough to watch about the last 15 minutes of the game and I was able to see the game winning goal. Good stuff. Jurgen Klopp has them play great soccer. He's no Jim Curtin, but he's still pretty good.
That's all from me today. Have a good Friday and before you know it the weekend will be here.
