Jerren "JJ" Nixon Jr. will have a chance to earn his way onto the Trinidad & Tobago U20 team for U20 World Cup qualifying.

The Union Academy U18 forward, who scored a game-winner for the team on Sunday, is one of 33 players called into a camp this week by newly appointed head coach Brian Williams.

Nixon is one of five U.S.-based players invited to the camp. Noah Powder, a New York Red Bulls Academy defender who started against Bethlehem Steel FC on Sunday night for NYRB II, Anthony Herbert, Chaz Burnett, and Joshua Burnett from Players Development Academy are the other four.

The 18-year-old, whose dad made 38 appearances for the T&T senior team from 1993-2004, was a member of the U17 team for CONCACAF World Cup qualifying last February.

The U20 team begin qualification for the 2017 U20 World Cup in South Korea this June. The final team will be named in late May.
