Match Preview Bethlehem Steel FC vs FC Montreal

Some thoughts and observations ahead of Bethlehem Steel FC's first match

Game: Bethlehem Steel FC vs FC Montreal

Date: Friday March 25th

Time: 7pm

Where: Stade Olympique

Bethlehem Steel FC are about to forge the narrative for their first season.

I've said this before, this was a really good team in the preseason. The Steel midfield of Academy standout Derrick Jones, Irish veteran James Chambers and former NY Red Bulls 2 product Bolu Akinyode are going to try and give FC Montreal some problems. Service from the wings towards Jamaican threat Amoy Brown should be good enough for him to have some quality chances in front of goal tomorrow night. The Steel trap of a defense will have a lot to deal with given that FC Montreal seems to be a pretty strong attacking side.

Speaking of FC Montreal, let's talk about some of their Impact-ful players. Fabio Morelli should feature well for the Canadian side, the former Neuchatel Xamax youth product will look to service the Montreal attack who are looking like a formidable foe for Bethlehem. Jacques Haman will look to benefit from Morelli's service as the former Rainbow FC player (Yes the same club Eric Ayuk joined the Union from and they apparently have a secret handshake) should be a pacey forward with more than enough speed to get behind the backline test Steel goalkeeper Samir Badr. Finally for Montreal, Mastanabal Kacher will be a holding midfielder who will look to put out any fires threatening those behind him. Kacher played just shy of 600 minutes for the USL club last year, putting together a respectable amount of work for Montreal in his first season with the pro side.
