I’ll level with everyone here, I’m not going to be able to do this half hour press conference justice. If you want to hear the unfiltered thoughts from both Coach Curtin and Earnie Stewart, listen to it. I’ll even throw it right here in this article, it’s that important.
Jim Curtin and Earnie Stewart recap the 2016 SeasonLIVE: Jim Curtin and Earnie Stewart recap the 2016 Season

That being said, what I will talk about is all of the information in terms of roster make-up that we learned about today. My thoughts are a bit non-sequential, so I’ll skip around in case you’re listening and reading at the same time.
Earnie Stewart was kind to his defense, saying that while they had plenty of rookies, they knew that the kids would make mistakes. Stewart added that as long as they don’t make the same mistakes ten times in a row it isn’t a reason to panic. Jim added that they were good for about a goal a game (for the Union) early on the season.
Continuing with the back-half of the field, Earnie Stewart wouldn’t be surprised if calls come in for Andre Blake. He says they haven’t happened yet, and the Generation Adidas contract being up is something that they are aware of but they don’t mind having a ‘keeper of that caliber on the payroll.
Mo? Apparently he’s set to be with the team for pre-season but Earnie Stewart smartly didn’t want to put a timetable on it both because the last time timetable and injury were used for Maurice Edu it didn’t end well and because of it being the first week of the Union’s offseason. When he comes back he’s a six. That’s the gameplan and it isn’t changing, so any hopes you have of #EduforTribbett is not looking great.
Matt Jones and Anderson, who if you were Union-centric this year hardly existed, were gone. Jones was fine for Bethlehem and Anderson in my opinion was a waste of space so not a huge loss on either front. Speaking of Bethlehem, Taylor Washington, Cole Missimo and Walter Restrepo will not have their (Philadelphia Union) options picked up. Technically those guys could sign for BSFC but we’ll have to wait and see.
Did you know Kevin Kratz was on loan from Atlanta United? Yeah, nope, neither did we. He’ll go back there at “some point” which realistically be after the rosters thaw out. Leo Fernandes and Charlie Davies are both coming to the end of their contracts, and if there’s any more news on that we should have you covered.
The rosters thaw out on December 11th and we should know at least one piece of new news then, but keep it here until then.
