Not so long ago, Christian Pulisic was being recruited to join the Philadelphia Union Academy from PA Classics. Today, Pulisic is on the bench for Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund against Ingolstadt, and could very well see his first minutes on one of the biggest professional stages in the world.
The seventeen year old midfielder from Hershey, PA has featured for the United States U17 team since 2013, and made the move to Dortmund in the middle of 2014. He turned down an offer to join the Union's development academy in its inaugural season, instead opting to follow his dream in Germany. He's made first team appearances in friendlies, however he has yet to see league play. That could all change this morning.
Today's match against Ingolstadt will be televised in the United States on Fox Sports 2, and kickoff at Signal Iduna Park is at 9:30 AM EST. Dortmund is currently second in the Bundesliga, eight points behind Bayern Munich. Ingolstadt is tenth, a whopping thirteen points behind the leaders.
