Thanks in part to rivals D.C. United and the New York Red Bulls, we now know two more preseason dates for the Philadelphia Union. Our friends at Once A Metro - SB Nation's Red Bulls blog - found that the Red Bulls and Union will play one another on February 24. While there was no venue announced, it will most likely be on Florida's west coast, since the Union will be making camp in Clearwater. It was also revealed in the Once A Metro article that this friendly will not be part of a tournament (so no chance the Red Bulls try and win back the IMG Suncoast Pro Classic trophy from the Union).
Steven Goff, who covers D.C. United for the Washington Post, found that United will face the Union on February 17 in St. Petersburg - about 45 minutes from Clearwater. Again, there's no indication this will be part of a tournament.
This makes three total games for the Union during the preseason, with a friendly against NASL side Jacksonville Armada having been announced quite some time ago. The match against the Armada will be in Jacksonville's EverBank Stadium, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Preseason Schedule
February 4 Philadelphia Union vs. Jacksonville Armada EverBank Stadium Jacksonville, Florida
February 17 Philadelphia Union vs. D.C. United St. Petersburg, Florida
February 24 Philadelphia Union vs. New York Red Bulls TBD
