A call to arms from Sons of Ben President

Kenny Hanson, the Sons of Ben President, has issued a rallying cry to all fans to be loud and proud when our Boys in Blue take on Sporting Kansas City for the U.S. Open Cup.

Eric Hartline-USA TODAY Sports

The stage is set. Tomorrow will decide whether the Union and it's fans will get to celebrate the first piece of hardware in team history. I know you are all as nervous and excited as I am. However, we the fans, have an integral part to play in bringing the Union to victory. The Sons of Ben President, Kenny Hanson, has put out a rallying cry to all fans. You can see the text of his letter below. GO UNION!

Dear friend,

Tomorrow night, the Philadelphia Union will host the U.S. Open Cup Final for the 2nd consecutive time.

Last year's match was an absolute heart-breaker. The Union took the early lead, battled, but fell in extra time against the Seattle Sounders in what was the most electric atmospheres in PPL Park history.

Here's a quote from a Sons of Ben member that sums up that atmosphere:

"I have have been a season ticket holder to every sports teams in Philadelphia for the last decade, but the game last night was the best night of sports my kid and I have ever had"

And here's what Aaron Reed, the Co-President of the Emerald City Supporters had to say:

"We have never had to try so hard to be so loud in any away match we have been to. The Sons of Ben and Philadelphia has built something special. You guys should be proud"

This is just a sample of the hundreds of emails we received from around the world about the environment in PPL Park last year.

This year, I have no doubt we will surpass the energy and excitement that had 16,000+ screaming "PHIL-A-DELPHIA!" in unison. I know that our Boys in Blue will go out there and leave everything on the field, so let's give everything we have to them from the stands.

I want to be so loud before kickoff that Jim Curtin has to yell in the locker room just so the players can hear him.

I want to be so loud that no one even notices the 750+ SKC supporters that are making the trip to Chester.

I want PPL Park to be the most intimidating stadium Sporting KC will EVER played in.

This isn't just about the Philadelphia Union or the Sons of Ben, this is about all of us, everyone single Union supporter, casual fan, player or coach in the stadium tomorrow night. TOMORROW WE ARE ONE! We can make PPL Park hell on earth for SKC tomorrow night and help bring the first piece of hardware to this franchise. If you are in the stadium tomorrow night, it is because you care about this team, let's make sure our players and coach know that.

I'm sure that in preparing for this match Jim Curtin has told the players to visualize winning the match and hoisting the Cup in front of a home crowd. I can't imagine there is any better feeling in the world. All I ask is that we do the same...visualize what we can do as individuals to support the players on the field tomorrow night and if you believe that we will be one tomorrow, then it will be so and we will be celebrating the Philadelphia Union's first trophy.

Will you march with me as we make our way in to the match? Will you stand with me tomorrow night and make history?
