Since signing for the Philadelphia Union, Swiss international Tranquillo Barnetta had failed to make a major impact for the Union, until Sunday's showcase game against the Houston Dynamo. Early in the game, Barnetta made an impact by scoring his first goal in the blue and gold. Barnetta recieved a cross from winger Sebastien Le Toux, took a touch forward to himself in space and slotted it right past Houston goalkeeper Tyler Deric. This was Tranquillo's first MLS goal since he joined the team in July. Barnetta was also credited with a second assist on the second Union goal scored by CJ Sapong.
It seems as though Tranquillo has finally adjusted to the Union based on his performance on the field and the fact he is quick to defend his teammates when he feels they were wrongly fouled. Barnetta has truly embraced the idea of brotherly love and "Philly ToughTM."
