Philadelphia Union Academy U-14 forward Jack de Vries is in camp with the Under-15 Boys National Team in Carson, California.
De Vries is a newcomer to the Union Academy this season, joining this year after playing with Beach FC in Virginia Beach, Florida. He's made three starts so far for the U-14 team in Development Academy play and has two goals in 156 minutes played.
He's one of 12 forwards in the camp at the National Training Center and the lone representative from the Philadelphia Union, according to a roster posted by @USAprospects on Twitter.
The camp opened on Sunday and concludes at the end of the week. Former Union coach John Hackworth is the head coach of the U-15 Boys National team. The Academy newcomer is one of 12 forwards and 48 players on the list of invitees to a camp this week in Carson, California.
The camp is the first for players born in 2002, an age group that will form the bulk of the roster that will seek to qualify for the 2019 U-17 World Cup in four years.
