Union Academy U-18 forward Sebastian Elney is set to begin his college career with Big 10 powerhouse Maryland in August. But before he gets to College Park, he has a U.S. Under-18 camp and tournament in Carson, California.
Elney is the lone call-up from the Philadelphia Union Academy for the camp, which began July 6 and runs through July 14.
U.S. U-18 MNT head coach Javier Perez tapped 20 players for the camp to represent the U.S. in the 2015 U-18 Men's NTC Tournament. Former Union Academy midfielder James Murphy, who plays for PDA, is also in the camp.
The three-team international tournament will be contested July 11-15 with the U.S., Uruguay and Czech Republic. The U.S. played a warm-up match against PSA Elite on Tuesday and will play Uruguay on July 11 and Czech Republic on July 13.
Both matches will be streamed on ussoccer.com (Uruguay at 7 p.m. Eastern and Czech Republic at 8 p.m. Eastern).
