Over 600 people have signed up to attend Tuesday's U.S. Open Cup match between the New York Red Bulls and Philadelphia Union, according to Sons of Ben President Kenny Hanson. Tickets are still available for purchase in Sections 219 and 220 via the Sons of Ben website for the 4:00 PM match. According to the Sons of Ben Facebook page, however, bus tickets for 500 people from PPL Park to Harrison, New Jersey are completely sold out.
I spoke briefly with Hanson, who called the expected turnout "impressive" for a Tuesday match. He cited the overall direction of the club and the recent good run of form the Union has gone on as a reason that so many people have signed up. He also said that the match against the Portland Timbers as the strongest showing of support since last season's U.S. Open Cup Final match against the Seattle Sounders.
Tickets are still available by following this link and entering in "philly" in the "Access an Offer" section.
