The Philadelphia Union and their fan base really needed that. After the 5-1 pasting at the hands of the LA Galaxy, the Union were able to hold out against a depleted Seattle Sounders for the win. The Union were fairly depleted as well, but thankfully, it was a matter of who wanted to lose least. I am happy after the win. The Union are just below the red line. But given the games in hand that everyone has on them, I remain only cautiously optimistic. Let’s see if the rhyming recap reflects this.
The Union took the whole three points
Their wins are coming hard
They have five now, which sure is nice
But still I stay on guard
Eighteen games and eighteen points
Their record clearly scarred
But wins are wins and while I’m glad
I still remain on guard
Seattle came to PPL
Without their many stars
But we will take what we can get
And try to keep our guard
Sapong just missed and Edu too
The U tried to bombard
Frei would bend but would not break
He stayed a stalwart guard
Especially in thirty-two
When he a PK barred
Edu shocked the fans resigned
To keep their tepid guard
But then in sixty-nine Sapong
Would light the soccer yard
His header scored and I was glad
But still I stayed on guard
Surprisingly for Union fans
Despite a year so marred
The U would win, the fans could now
Slowly drop their guard
