The story of the Philadelphia Union's founding often gets compared to a Hollywood story. The city was ignored by Major League Soccer until a grassroots group went and made enough noise to get the team here. The Sons of Ben gathered signatures and memberships, and famously showed up at a New England Revolution - New York Red Bulls match and heckled both teams and sets of supporters.
Hollywood listened, and over the past few years a movie has been put together chronicling this story. Tonight, the film makes its United States debut in Philadelphia at the Trocadero Theatre. The film has shown a few times before - in Barcelona and Bilbao in soccer film festivals, and even won the Grand Prix at the Tokyo International Football Film Festival earlier this year.
Tickets are still on sale on the Sons of Ben Movie website - $17 for the movie and $40 for the movie and after-party.
