Danny Cruz Brings "Philly Tough" to Norway

After taking two boots to the face in a few days, Cruz is still set to play in the next game.

Philadelphia Union winger Danny Cruz, currently on loan with Norwegian club Bodø/Glimt made his debut last weekend against Aalesunds FK. Cruz only was able to play until he was kicked in the head by defender Mikael Dyrestam a mere seventeen minutes into the match. Cruz was subbed out as a precaution, and visited doctors on Monday after training to ensure he did not have a concussion. Cruz needed stitches after the hit on Sunday, and on Tuesday at the team's morning training session, Cruz took yet another boot to the head. This hit forced Cruz to go to the hospital again to get more stitches. Bodø/Glimt released a statement to MLS saying "Unfortunately, it (a boot to the face) happened again in training the day after, so he got to go to the hospital to get some more stitches. He will not miss any games." So, two cleats to the head, two trips to the hospital, two times needing stitches and Cruz will not miss any games.
