After defeating the New York Red Bulls 2-0 for it's first ever win at Red Bull Arena this past Sunday, the Philadelphia Union had two players named to the MLS Team of the Week. Goalie Brian Sylvestre and defender Fabinho both earned spots in the week's best XI after putting in solid efforts in the Union's victory.
Sylvestre, who was just recalled by the Carolina RailHawks after being loaned to Jim Curtin's side, earned his second career win and shutout, making several key saves along the way to keep the Red Bulls off the scoreboard. Perhaps the best save he made came in the 74th minute when he denied striker Bradley Wright-Phillips with a kick save to keep the shutout in tact.
In what Curtin called "his best game in a Union uniform," Fabinho was in the lineup in place of Raymon Gaddis and recorded an assist on CJ Sapong's goal that extended Philly's lead to two.
