Poetry Corner Kicks: Union 0 - Fire 1

This game was a bomb.  Not "da bomb", just simply "a bomb".  The Philadelphia Union bombed the bombiest bomb of a game to ever bomb.  Like the land that has just been torn apart by the ravages of the aforementioned explosive device, there was nothing left to salvage from this game once the whistle blew.  Think I am being overly dramatic?  It’s possible.  But it’s also possible that this team should change its name to the Philadelphia Bomby McBomertons.

The Fire and Union played a game
A chance to restore some calm
Both teams had such terrible starts
But here the U would bomb

Philly sat out many starters-
The lame, the carded were gone
This made for really sloppy play
By Philly who would bomb

In thirty-seven was the goal
That turned the home fans on
Adailton beat M’Bolhi’s dive-
Another Union bomb

M’Bolhi made a great kick-save
A hardly soothing balm
For Union fans there in the stands
Who witnessed their team bomb

‘Nando missed his shot quite wide
And Fred hit with his palm
A Fred-red put the U behind
With ten men left to bomb

Edu had a chance to score
His whiff the U embalmed
Philly now officially dead
Victims of their bomb

A trip to SKC is next
Then NYC is drawn
Let’s hope some points can come to U
And not more utter bombs
