The United States Under-18 team missed out on the knockout stage of the 2015 Copa Chivas Tournament in Guadalajara, Mexico after posting a 1-2-1 record in group play, but did finally get their offense on track in a consolation game against Japanese club Urawa on Thursday.

Philadelphia Union Academy forward Sebastian Elney delivered a goal and an assist in a 5-1 win over Urawa. The U.S. team scored just two goals in four Group A games against Monarcas Morelia (1-0 win), Cruzeiro Esporte Clube (1-0 loss), Club Tijuana (1-1 draw) and Club Deportivo Universidad Católica de Chile (1-0 loss).

Seattle Sounders forward Victor Mansaray, defender DJ Mason, Real Salt Lake defender Sebastian Saucedo and D.C. United midfielder Eryk Williamson added goals in the match.

In other Union Academy news, the team will be sending a group of U-17 players to Florida next weekend for the second round of qualification for the 2015 MLS Generation adidas Cup, an annual tournament that showcases elite U-17 academy teams.

The Union Academy takes on D.C. United on Friday at 1 p.m., Toronto FC at 3 p.m. Saturday and New York Red Bulls Monday, Feb. 16, at 9 a.m.

They are currently third in the East Region standings with four points after three games behind Toronto FC (9 points) and New York Red Bulls (9 points). The top two teams in each region - East, Central, and West - will qualify for the final group stage.
