The Union will start their 2016 season on the road as the team has announced the first three matches of the season. The team will travel to FC Dallas on March 6th, then to Columbus on March 12th before the home opener at Talen Energy Stadium on March 20th against the New England Revolution.
The first match against FC Dallas should be a tough test to start the season where the Union will be looking for their first league win against Dallas. The Union defeated Dallas in the memorable US Open Cup semi-final, but have been unable to defeat Oscar Pareja's men in league competition, collecting an 0-4-4 record.
This season's home opener will be a rematch of the club's 2014 home opener in which they defeated the Revolution 1-0 thanks to a first half goal from Sebastien Le Toux. The 20th also marks the first date that Union fans will be able to see the fruits of Earnie Stewart's rebuild at home. With so many departures, fans have been eagerly awaiting what new faces will join the club.
