Two academy players called into U.S. U17 team

U16 goalkeeper Carlos dos Santos and defender Rayshaun McGann were called into the U17 team for the 2015 Nike International Friendlies in Florida.

Carlos dos Santos and Rayshaun McGann will be traveling with their Union Academy teammates to Florida this week, but they will be joining the U.S. U17 team when they arrive in Lakewood Ranch as part of the 2015 Nike International Friendlies and U.S. Development Academy Winter Showcase.

Dos Santos, a goalkeeper from Philadelphia, and McGann, a defender from Royal Palm Beach, Florida, both play for the Union Academy U16 team and have been regular call-ups for U.S. U15 head coach John Hackworth, who will coach the team of players born in 2000 in preparation for the next U17 World Cup cycle in 2017.

The U17 team, which includes 19 domestic players and two from outside the U.S., will play England at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Netherlands at 6 p.m. on Friday and Brazil at 6 p.m. Sunday. All matches will be streamed on ussoccer.com and U.S. Soccer's YouTube page with Mike Pepper providing commentary.

Dos Santos and McGann's teammates will have their Saturday game in the Development Academy Showcase against LA Galaxy streamed at 3 p.m.

The U16s will also play FC Golden State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. and Vancouver Whitecaps on Monday at 9 a.m. The U18s will play Houston Dynamo at 2 p.m. Thursday, Georgia United at 9 a.m. Friday and FC Dallas Sunday at 11:15 a.m.
