Andre Blake, the young player who appears to have saved the Philadelphia Union from their goalkeeping morass, has been called up by the Jamaican National Team for a friendly on Tuesday, October 13th. Jamaica will take on South Korea in Seoul in what is a pretty intriguing matchup. Both the Korea Republic (ranked #53 in the world by FIFA) and Jamaica (ranked #57) are looking to fine tune their World Cup qualifying campaigns. Jamaica will be looking to build off the momentum of a Gold Cup run that saw them reach the finals, while South Korea is about to start the third round of qualifying and hoping to make their ninth consecutive World Cup Finals appearance.
Believe it or not, Jamaica and South Korea have met twice before in Seoul, both times in 1998. South Korea won one game and drew the other.
The game will not be broadcast live but a replay will be shown on BeIn Sport USA at 2:30pm on Wednesday October 14th.
Blake is set to return to the Union on Thursday and should be ready for their next game at the New York Red Bulls on October 18th at 3pm.
