Union Academy in College: Week 9

Connor Maloney ends scoring drought; Doyle Tuvesson and Brian White both scored game-winning goals in overtime; and Logan Keys records another shutout for LIU Brooklyn.

After going four games without a goal, junior forward Connor Maloney picked up a goal in Penn State's 3-0 win over Loyola Marymount last Wednesday, his fourth of the season.

Lehigh sophomore forward Doyle Tuvesson also found the back of the net for the first time in more than a month when he scored the game-winning goal in overtime to beat Boston on Saturday. Tuvesson also had an assist in the game and has three goals and four assists on the season.

Duke sophomore Brian White also scored a golden goal in overtime to lead his Duke Blue Devils to a 1-0 win over Jacksonville on Tuesday. His 94th minute goal was his second overtime winner of the season and sixth overall. Teammate Noah Snyder made his longest appearance of the season, playing 39 minutes as a reserve in the game. His previous high was 20 minutes as a substitute on September 8.

Also finding the goal over the past week was La Salle senior Joe Farrell, who scored his first of the season in a 2-1 loss to Rhode Island.

Logan Keys shutout streak reaches four

LIU Brooklyn junior goalkeeper Logan Keys was named the Northeast Conference Player of the Week last week for recording back-to-back shutouts and he followed that up with another shutout in a 3-0 win over Central Connecticut State on Sunday.

The older brother of La Salle freshmen Garrett Keys and Cameron Keys has six shutouts in his last seven games and has held clean sheets in seven of his nine starts this season.

Duquesne senior goalkeeper Sam Frymier kept his fourth clean sheet of the season, making three saves in a 3-0 win over St. Bonaventure on Saturday.

Madison back

UMBC senior forward Darius Madison returned to the lineup after missing three straight games and played 40 minutes in the Retrievers 2-1 loss to Binghamton on Saturday. He also started and played 45 minutes in a 1-0 win over Drexel on Tuesday.

Joey Julius update

Penn State kicker Joey Julius has struggled at times during his first season as the placekicker, but he's kept his starting job with 10 out of 12 field goals made and 20 out of 22 extra points made to lead the team with 50 points. He's also made a tackle and averages 63.9 yards on his kickoffs, 20 of which have gone for touchbacks.

Division II & III Update

Chidi Iloka continues to impress in his freshman season for Kean. He has started 14 games, has a 0.85 goals against average and has earned five clean sheets.

Amherst College senior goalkeeper Thomas Bull has only allowed two goals in his 14 starts for an incredible 0.14 goals against average and has 12 shutouts.

Freshman Josh Gotlib's chances have been limited for Franklin & Marshall College. He's had three appearances in goal, made 1 save and allowed 1 goal.

Sophomore Spencer Reinford has had a fine year for University of Rio Grande with 5 goals and 2 assists in 17 appearances and 4 starts.

Lebanon Valley College senior forward Cam Alexander has been limited to 11 games and 9 starts, but has scored three goals and an assist.

West Chester sophomore forward Brett Glasco has played 16 games, 15 of them starts for West Chester and has registered eight shots on goal.
