Bethlehem Steel FC names Brendan Burke manager

Well, that didn't take long.

Just only a day after the unveiling of the logo and colors, the Bethlehem Steel FC has their manager. Bethlehem has named former Philadelphia Union assistant Brendan Burke as the USL affiliate's first head coach.. Burke might be a familiar name to some people, as he was the coach of Reading United from 2008-2011. His time in Reading saw multiple playoff appearances as well as a first place regular season record in 2009. Seeing process and liking his body of work in Reading, Burke became youngest assistant coach in MLS history with the Union in 2011. He also had a huge hand in developing players, with his most notable Union project being Andrew Wenger. The former Boston College graduate also had coaching roles at the YSL Academy and the Union Juniors Academy. He then left the organization in April of 2014 to take up the same position at Northeastern University.

Since arriving in 2014 the Huskies under the direction of Burke and head coach Brian Ainscough have gone 11-21-4. The Union will officially introduce Burke as the coach tomorrow morning alongside Minority Owner Richie Graham and Union Head Coach Jim Curtin.
