Local high school teams make USA TODAY/NSCAA Top 25 list

Three boys and three girls teams were named to their respective Top 25 list according to the USA TODAY/National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll.

The National Soccer Coaches Association of America released their weekly ranking of high school soccer teams, and Southeastern Pennsylvania and Delaware were well represented in both the boys and girls Top 25 Lists.

For the boys, St. Benedict's Prep in Newark, New Jersey, was first - a spot they've held since September 15. First from this area is Central Bucks East from Doylestown, who at 18-0-0 are at number 15 in the list, down from number 11 last week. At 18-0-0, Philadelphia's Father Judge check in at number 24, down from 22nd last week. Just below them at 25 is Washington Township from Sewell, NJ. At 16-0-1, they're brand new to the list. Also receiving votes were Conestoga in Berwyn and Appoquinimink in Bear, DE.

For the girls,16-0-0 Northern Allandale in Allandale, NJ, have been in the top spot since September 8. The top team in this area is Cumberland Valley from Mechanicsburg, PA. At 19-0-0, Philadelphia Union team coordinator Josh Gros' alma mater is ranked number seven in the nation. 17-0-1 Central Bucks East from Doylestown checks in at number 20, and at number 25 is 14-3-0 Immaculate Heart Academy from Washington Township, NJ.
