Zac MacMath will spend First Kick 2015 at PPL Park - with the Colorado Rapids.

The Philadelphia Union confirmed today that MacMath is going on loan with the Rapids for the 2015 season. According to the Union's press release:

The Union receive the Rapids’ lowest 2015 MLS SuperDraft second round pick in exchange for the loan of MacMath. If a permanent transfer is executed, Colorado will send its highest first round pick in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft to Philadelphia.

The move all but cements Rais M'Bolhi's position as starting goalkeeper for the Union in 2015. While the 2015 SuperDraft class is expected to be thin, it's much better than allowing MacMath to walk away for free. He'll also compete for a starting job with Clint Irwin an John Berner as well as get to work with  goalkeeping coach Chris Sharpe - a luxury he hasn't had since the Union fired Rob Vartughian (now with New York City FC) back in June.
