Rais M'Bolhi is probably the only Philadelphia Union player hoping to postpone the preseason trip to Florida.
While the rest of his teammates have started practicing in the snowy Philadelphia suburbs, M'Bolhi is already in a tropical climate playing soccer. Rais and les Verts advanced out of the group stage in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations and will face les Éléphants of Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast) in the quarter-finals on Sunday, February 1 at 2:30 PM.
M'Bolhi has had a very good tournament thus far, allowing just two goals in the three group stage matches. Algeria advanced when they defeated Senegal and Ghana defeated the Republic of South Africa during the last match of the Group C stage.
Côte d'Ivoire on the other hand was the only team in Group D to win a match, defeating Cameroon 1-0 in the last match of the group stage. The other results for every Group D match was a 1-1 draw, which meant that Guinea advanced over Mali thanks to the luck of the draw. No seriously, they drew lots.
The winner of Sunday's match will go on to face the winner of the Congo - Democratic Republic of the Congo match.
