At No. 16, Maryland goalkeeper Zack Steffen is the highest rated player with Union Academy experience on the TopDrawerSoccer.com preseason top 100 Division 1 list released earlier this month. You can see the full list HERE.

Steffen is entering his second (and possibly last) season in College Park and the team's first in the Big 10 conference. The Terps open their season on Friday night as the first opponent to take on Louisville in their brand new $18.5 soccer specific stadium. The game will be broadcast on ESPN3 at 8:30 p.m.

The Downingtown native who traveled to the Bahamas earlier this month for a training camp with the U.S. U-23 team is the highest rated goalkeeper on the list; Washington's redshirt senior keeper Spencer Richey checked in at No. 18.

Joining Steffen on the list are Darius Madison, a junior forward at Virginia, Monmouth senior defender Matt Jeffery at No. 86 and Georgetown junior right back and Ronks native Keegan Rosenberry at No. 87.

Madison had a successful summer in the PDL, leading Reading United AC in scoring with 6 goals and an assist in 7 games. The Philadelphia native's Cavaliers open their season on Friday hosting Old Dominion in Charlottesville after a 2-1 loss to Rutgers and a 1-1 draw with Georgetown in preseason.

Rosenberry and fellow Academy alums Brett Campbell, Jon Azzinnari and Melvin Snoh will travel to Bloomington for their opener against Indiana on Friday night. Rosenberry kept busy over the summer with invites to train with DC United, Columbus Crew and the Chicago Fire, according to the Georgetown men's soccer website while Campbell was second behind Madison in scoring for Reading with three goals.

Jeffery, a Freehold, N.J., native, opens his final season with the Monmouth Hawks on Friday night hosting UMass Lowell.
