New, 1 comment

Whether you call it the Turnpike Derby, I-95 Derby, or (especially if you're a Red Bull fan) "it's not a rivalry" there have been some really special memories when these two teams have met on the pitch. What's your favorite?

This thread is simple. What is your favorite memory of the Philadelphia Union - New York Red Bulls rivalry? Whether you call it the Turnpike Derby, I-95 Derby, or (especially if you're a Red Bull fan) "it's not a rivalry" there have been some really special memories when these two teams have met on the pitch. For a retrospective I did at the beginning of the year, click here and remember some of the best (and worst) moments from matches past.

Personally for me, I'll never forget April 9, 2011 when Roger Torres was subbed on and even before they were done announcing his name he broke in and scored the lone goal to give the Union the win. I liken it to when Matt Stairs pinch hit a home run off of Jonathan Broxton in Game 4 of the 2008 NLCS - just one of those special moments in sports where the most unexpected, amazing thing happens.

So what are your favorite moments? Let us know in the comments section below!
