Poetry Corner Kicks: Union 1 - Galaxy 4

Poetry Corner Kicks lauds a strong Galaxy team.

You know what?  I don’t think I even want to talk about the Philadelphia Union for this game.  What is there to talk about really?  Another complete defensive collapse?  DPs getting frustrated?  Hackworth flabbergasted yet again?  All the good stuff seemed to come from the LA Galaxy side of things.  So let’s talk about that for a bit...

What a game the Galaxy had on their home field turf
They played and beat the team in blue that played like little smurfs
They started fast in minute two, when Leonardo scored
Landy hit an arching pass that found its just reward
Minute forty-nine would bring the story of the game
Donovan would score a goal that brought him all acclaim
The record breaking goal had put the Galaxy up two
But there was more to come you see, for LA wasn’t through
Although MacMath would come up huge in minute fifty-three
Keane would score to make a vict’ry all but guaranteed
Then for a moment Conor Casey thought he played for Cali
He played a perfect pass to Keane, but he just couldn’t tally
Donovan would score again to bring the lead to four
Alas the Union defense had been shredded to the core
Edu scored a PK goal in minute eighty-eight
But when you’re down so much it’s much too little, much too late
Will Hackworth keep on coaching when we hit the World Cup break?
Or will they find a striker ‘cause the offense ain’t awake!
The way the U have played of late has given cause to grieve us
Let’s hope that they can earn some points when they next play at Chivas
