The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly Philadelphia Union: Match Day 14

This week's edition will be short and to the point. Additionally, it should be noted that the "Good" part of the title of this weekly article is merely there for tradition sake at this point in the season. Another week and another depressing, demoralizing, no good, stinking performance. (Note to self, copy this intro and paste it into a draft for next week.)

Harry How

The Good:.....

Absolutely nothing.

The Bad: John Hackworth

Another week and another new partnership at the back. At this point Hackworth is either desperate and grasping at straws or throwing index cards with names on them down a stair case and the two that go farther get to start. Your guess is as good as mine.

The Ugly: Our collective sanity

The worst part of this season is the complete and utter lack of excitement and hope put forth each week. Up until the game is completely out of reach there are no opportunities going forward that make you hold your breath, slowly rise out of your seat, or even dream about how you'll celebrate when the ball hits the back of the net. It doesn't matter how much possession in the offensive third they have, there just doesn't seem to be a chance of scoring.

Taking the Sporting KC game out of the mix, this is the rule every single week. The life has been sucked from this fan base and if it wasn't for anger, this team wouldn't inspire anything from their supporters. The season is far from a lost cause with only 5 points separating the Union from a playoff spot, but there appears no turn around in sight.

At this point in the season, if you're not angry and calling for Hackworth to be fired you're either not paying attention or his mother.
