Since the last PTD, when rumors of Kleberson's arrival in Indianapolis were surfacing, the Brazilian midfielder has joined Twitter, was introduced by his new club, and scored his first goal for the new outfit. The move is still a bit of an odd one, considering that Kleberson could probably cut it in a lower league in Brazil, perhaps on a team closer to where he resides. This signing is a coup in just about every way for Indy. Kleberson can still play, and should be a star in the NASL. The most important thing that he brings, however, is experience. He should be a great leader in the Eleven's locker room for their inaugural season.
Both Justin Mapp and Jordan Harvey made the MLS Team of the Week. Harvey scored a goal from the left back spot, and Mapp assisted on Marco Di Vaio's equalizer.
Shea Salinas went 90 minutes in San Jose's 2-1 loss to the Revs in Foxboro.
The US Men's National Team took on Mexico last night, but Michael Orozco was on the wrong side of the border. Puebla refused to release him for international duty as they try to stave off relegation. Puebla drew with Leon on Sunday, but they still sit in dead last.
Porfirio Lopez and Alajuelense lost 1-0 in the first leg of the CCL Semifinals. They will travel to Toluca in the second leg. LDA has won in Mexico earlier in the competition, and it wouldn't be a huge shock to see them do it again.
Chandler Hoffman scored the first goal in LA Galaxy II's history over the weekend, as Los Dos drew Sacramento Republic FC. Here's video of the goal:
Bakary Soumare played the entire match as Chicago and DC each scored twice.
