In probably the strangest move in Paid Their Dues history, Kleberson has reportedly signed with Indy Eleven of the NASL. The World Cup winner and former Red Devil has been without a club since Bahia let his contract expire at the end of 2013. Indy is likely paying him an outrageous sum of money, but it's still interesting that Kleberson has chosen to play in Indiana instead of a team in California or Florida. As for any doubts about the Brazilian's ability to compete in the NASL: Eduardo Coudet scored six goals in 18 matches with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at age 36. Kleberson will be just fine.
Andrew Jacobson entered eleven minutes into the FC Dallas vs. Chivas match for an injured Adam Moffat, but Jacobson had to leave the field on a stretcher 53 minutes later. There is no word yet on how bad his injury is. Chris Seitz made another appearance in goal.
New England signed Matt Pickens this week, which is sure to anger both Brad Knighton and Bobby Shuttleworth. The Revs now have three starting quality goalkeepers, but Shuttleworth is still the starter at the moment.
Poor Shea Salinas. In CCL action, Toluca and San Jose had one goal apiece after 120 minutes of play, and the match went to penalty kicks. With the game on the line, Salinas banged his attempt off the crossbar. Sad Shea Salinas makes me very sad. He did better against SKC, though! The 'Quakes might have lost 1-0, but MLSSoccer.com considered him the third best player on the field that day. Smile, Shea!
Alajuelense beat Arabe Unido 2-0 on aggregate to advance to the CONCACAF Champions' League semifinals. That's right, there are more Porfirio Lopezes in the semifinals than there are MLS Clubs. Alajuelense will play Toluca on the 1st and 8th of April, in a match-up that seems very winnable for the Costa Rican side. From what I've seen of them, Alajuelense is a pretty fun team to watch, so be sure to catch that if FOX decides to put it on TV. The Fighting Porfirioes are only 360 minutes away from the Club World Cup. The excitement is palpable.
Michael Orozco played 90 minutes in Puebla's 3-1 loss to Tijuana. Puebla is now one spot from the bottom in Mexico, as they have only collected ten points through 12 games.
Kai Herdling played 35 minutes in Hoffenheim's 3-2 win over Bayer Leverkusen.
Morgan Langley has re-signed with the Harrisburg City Islanders.
Stephen Okai scored the only goal in Orange County's 3-1 loss to LA Galaxy II.
