Oh Orlando City. We'll spare you the "Mickey Mouse franchise" talk, but this was an absolute boner. Like most MLS franchises (and every other business in the world), Orlando City was trying to get people to spend money at their online store. They sent out the following tweet (which has since been deleted):
Oops.
This caused an almost automatic backlash from anyone who read it.
@OrlandoCitySC but it's not pink and there are no sparkles. Try again. #FFS

.@OrlandoCitySC What about girls who don't have boyfriends? Why should we go? Who's going to explain the rules to us?

@OrlandoCitySC so if I don't have a boyfriend, can my dad buy it instead?

While this was the prevailing sentiment, there were some who argued that there was nothing wrong with it and that people were being overly sensitive. Those people's tweets aren't posted here, because those people are flat out wrong and we don't condone sexism.
Naturally, Orlando City deleted the tweet and apologized.
We apologize for our earlier tweet. In an attempt at humor, we crossed a line and we are sorry. Meant no offense to any of our amazing fans.
