According to our friends at Hot Time In Old Town, Bakary Soumare will be without a club this off-season unless he takes a pay cut. Soumare made 25 starts for the Fire this season.
Kyle Nakazawa now plays beach soccer! Surprised it's taken so long.
Greg Jordan and Minnesota United lost to Fort Lauderdale by penalties in the NASL Semi-Finals on Saturday. Jordan played 82 minutes, being substituted out for Omar Daley.
Gabriel Farfan has been featuring with Chiapas' U-20's team for the better part of the year, although he did make a first team appearance back in late September when Jaguares faced Veracruz in the Copa MX tournament. His brother Michael is still without a team, but was in Chiapas this week hanging out with Gabe.
Michael Orozco's Puebla lost to Santos Laguna on penalties in the Copa MX (think Mexico's US Open Cup) final. It would have been their fifth Copa MX title. Orozco had been a permanent fixture on Puebla's back line, and cleared a certain goal off of the line on Saturday to salvage a draw with back-to-back champions León. He did leave the match and was seen on th bench wrapping ice on his left calf. It's unknown if he'll be available to play in the season finale against Santos Laguna.
Alajuelense and Porfirio Lopez lost 2-0 to rivals Saprissa this weekend, with Lopez having gone the full 90 for Alajuelense. The two clubs sit in first and second place, respectively.
David Myrie got the scoring started for Herediano, as they defeated Limón 3-0 to move to third place in the Costa Rican Primera División. Both Myrie and Gabriel Gomez played a full 90 for Los Rojiamarillos.
Hoffenheim dropped to fifth place after losing 4-3 to Köln this weekend. Kai Herdling has failed to make an appearance for the Hoffenheim first team this season, and wasn't in the eighteen on Saturday.
JOE TAIT UPDATE: Joe Tait, who is now with Spennymoor Town, lost to his old team Darlington last weekend 1-0. That must have been tough for Joe, but probably not as tough as The Steel Spennies (making this up) losing to Bamber Bridge 6-1 this past weekend. This coming weekend, Joe and the Steel Spennies face off against Leek Town. Mmm... leeks...
